I think SoundCloud plays can still be useful for new artists, especially for seeing whether people are actually discovering and listening to your music. At the same time, I wouldn’t focus only on the play count. Shares, comments, repeat listeners, and engagement can tell you much more about whether a track is connecting with people. Even small things like using recognizable sound buttons in your content can make it more interactive and memorable when promoting music.
