I just uploaded my first tracks to SoundCloud and noticed songs with more plays get more attention fast. Do purchased plays still help new artists gain traction or is it mostly useless now?

SoundCloud plays still matter for new artists because people naturally check tracks that already show activity. Higher play counts can help create social proof and encourage real listeners to give your music a chance. Of course, good music and consistent uploads are still the main factors for growth. I tested a few services before, and best site to soundcloud plays looked more natural compared to low-quality instant play providers.

Yeah, listeners definitely judge tracks fast by the numbers. Even good songs get skipped sometimes if the play count looks too low at first glance.

True. Social proof matters a lot online now, especially on music platforms where people often follow what already seems popular or active.

I think SoundCloud plays can still be useful for new artists, especially for seeing whether people are actually discovering and listening to your music. At the same time, I wouldn’t focus only on the play count. Shares, comments, repeat listeners, and engagement can tell you much more about whether a track is connecting with people. Even small things like using recognizable sound buttons in your content can make it more interactive and memorable when promoting music.
