ParticipantHi, colleagues! I decided to try Shifton for our small team at the cafe (we have 12 people, including me), because I was tired of planning everything manually in Excel. I heard that there is some kind of “schedule generator for employees”, but I haven’t quite figured out how it works yet. Has anyone actually used it? We have a lot of nuances with shifts, especially on weekends and when someone suddenly goes on vacation. I want to understand whether it is worth getting into it or if I should do everything manually again.

ParticipantWe implemented https://shifton.com/shift-scheduling in our company (we have about 60 people, a cleaning service with shift work) six months ago – and I will tell you this: if someone had offered us an automatic schedule generator for employees earlier, I would not have suffered with sleepless nights and papers. In your case, it is a real salvation. The generator there does not just work on the principle of “scatter everyone as you please”, it really takes into account restrictions: who can work when, how many hours someone has already had, weekends, overlapping shifts. I especially liked that you can set the preferences of each employee in advance, and Shifton will take this into account. For example, one of our employees can only work in the evenings because of her family, and before I was constantly confused – who can when, who should not intersect with whom. Now all this can be resolved in a couple of minutes: you enter the data, press a button, and voila – the schedule is ready, and you can edit it manually if you don’t like something. Another cool thing is the mobile app. Workers log in and see their shifts themselves, no need to explain it to each one individually. Plus, they can send a request for a replacement if they can’t go out, and the system will offer a free person. If you really want to make your life easier, try it. The main thing is to sit for a while at first, figure it out, and then everything goes like clockwork.

ParticipantIt’s interesting, I read you and understand that we are probably dragging our feet with the implementation of Shifton. I saw a demonstration at a conference on HR-tech, but at that time it seemed too complicated. And now you are telling it in such a way that I really want to try it, especially for the sake of automatic scheduling – we have a perpetual mess with this too.
